Surface Book, Pro 4 und Pro 3 erhalten umfangreiche Updates

Surface Book, Surface Pro 4 und Pro 3 haben allesamt umfangreiche Updates erhalten. Schauen wir uns im Einzelnen an, was neu ist.

Surface Book

• Surface System Aggregator Firmware update (v88.1134.257.0) addresses a case where after you resume the Surface Book device from hibernation and detach the clipboard, the auto-rotate feature does not work.
• Surface UEFI update (v88.1121.768.0) addresses screen flickering in Microsoft Edge and other applications.
• Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 driver update (v20.19.15.4409) improves the overall stability of the graphics driver, resolves screen flickering in several popular applications, and cases where the display does not reinitialize correctly after the device resumes from sleep or hibernation.
• Intel(R) Display Audio driver update (v8.20.0.865) supports compatibility with the updated HD Graphics Family driver.

Für die Gamer besonders interessant, ist die Ausweitung des Supports für mehr Spiele. In seiner stärksten Konfiguration taugt das Surface Book durchaus als Daddelkiste (in vernünftigen Maßen).

Persönlich freut mich die verbesserte Stabilität der Windows Hello Funktion, die mich bei meinem Surface Book in letzter Zeit öfter hat hängen lassen.

Das UEFI Update sollte das Display-Flimmern in Microsoft Edge beseitigen, das viele User beklagt haben (ich hatte es nicht).

Surface Pro 4

Ganz ähnlich wie die Updates für das Surface Book, gibt es auch hier mehrere Aktualisierungen im Grafikbereich. Das Surface Pro 4 taugt, in Ermangelung einer dedizierten Grafikkarte, allerdings nicht ganz so gut zum Gamen wie das Surface Book.

Das Flackern in Edge sollte durch ein UEFI Update auch beim Pro 4 behoben sein.

Surface Pro 3

Das Surface Pro 3 bekommt wie die beiden vorangegangenen Surfaces weiter oben Updates im Bereich Surface Dock. Die Stabilität soll sich dadurch in Verbindung mit externen Monitoren und passiven Video-Adaptern verbessern.
